Adams, Charles Edward (1870 - 1945)
Charles E. Adams was born in Lawrence, Otago, New Zealand on the 1 October 1870. He studied in Christchurch at the University of New Zealand and received an hon. D.Sc. in 1915. From 1911 on he was Dominion Government Astronomer & Seismologist and later director of the Dominion Observatory, Wellington, New Zealand.

His astronomical papers include observations of the latitude and longitude of the observatory, site testing and calculations of a comets coordinates. C. E. Adams died in Wellington, New Zealand, on the 31 October 1945.
